“As a hospice clinical social worker, I can attest that PCOM Georgia’s Body Donation
Program is a gift. For many of our families it brings them JOY and RELIEF that they
may honor their deceased loved one’s wishes to be able to donate for the benefit of
medical students’ training AND to also have the cost of cremation covered. Accessing
PCOM Georgia’s Body Donation Program is easy. PCOM Georgia’s Body Donation Program
is very respectful of these families and recognizes the tender time of loss, providing
clear communication for the program’s purpose, and grateful for the special contributions
to which the family and their deceased are making.”

“PCOM Georgia’s Body Donation Program is absolutely the best donor program! The staff
and organization is absolutely amazing, providing expertise, confidence and above
all empathy for your loved one and the family. PCOM Georgia’s Body Donation Program
will cover expenses for transporting the donor and cremation which is helpful for
the family. The Donor Memorial Service was especially heart-warming and rewarding.
Our family was totally "At Peace" with the entire process knowing that we were supporting
education and research with a fabulous medical college. We are proud to be a member
of the PCOM family.”

“I was happy to have an osteopathic school for my husband’s body. I am a retired Operating
Room nurse and worked at a university hospital where some of the OD's would do their
resident training in the OR. Since then, I have been a fan of osteopathic medicine.
I found PCOM Georgia’s Body Donation Program comforting, supportive, compassionate
and so very accommodating. For me, the whole stressful process, was made painless,
smooth and easy. We found the memorial service in May to be a blessed experience and
to receive the cremains and meet with others who had lost loved ones.”

“My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma with a BRAF mutation this
past year. He wanted to donate his body to science with the hope that a cure could
be developed to prevent anyone else from suffering the way he had to. I reached out
to a few other body donor programs and did not receive an answer back. When I came
across PCOM Georgia’s Body Donation Program, Hannah answered my email almost immediately.
I was sent the application, completed it and turned it in. Hannah and Jeff were extremely
professional and answered all of the questions we had.
When my husband was placed into hospice, the nurse was connected with Jeff at PCOM
Georgia’s Body Donation Program who handled the process from that point forward. When
my husband passed, the funeral home picked him up and transported him to the College
immediately. The next day, after his passing, I received a call from Jeff letting
me know that my husband was safely delivered to the College and under their care.
This was a relief to know he arrived quickly and safely and was where he wanted to
be. Jeff let me know that my husband's body would be educating 135 medical students
at the College. That made my heart smile. He told me that in about a year or so, I
would receive a call and email inviting our family and friends to attend a memorial
ceremony honoring my husband’s donation. Also, we would receive his cremated remains
at that time.
I'm am so thankful for finding such a great program that I can entrust my dearly loved
husband's body for medical education and research to follow out his last wishes.
Thank you for the wonderful service you provide! When there are so many things you
have to deal with when losing a loved one, I can't thank you enough for making the
process so smoothly run and rewarding to know the legacy of his body donation for
education and research will be enriching the lives of so many and have a lasting impact
on medical advancements and future patient care.”
