Elective Rotations
Graduate Medical Education at PCOM
When you select Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, you become an integral
part of a patient care team.
Students who complete an elective rotation with PCOM will be provided with graduated
responsibility in a challenging academic environment, working closely with PCOM residents
and clinical faculty.
Tradition in education
Providing quality medical education is at the core of PCOM's rich tradition. Our clinical
faculty is committed to providing comprehensive training to third and fourth year
medical students.
Patient care opportunities
Through their clinical experience, students will have the opportunity to develop skills
in bedside differential diagnosis and patient care management under supervision. Completing
an elective rotation with PCOM will also provide students with the opportunity to
experience the College's graduate medical education programs while considering future
residency and fellowship training.
How to apply
Students must apply for PCOM Student Electives with PCOM programs and teams via the
application process described on each rotation page below.
Students are not permitted to contact PCOM Program Student Elective sites or physicians
directly and will not be approved to complete the requested rotation if the required
application process is not followed.
Students accepted to complete a rotation will be responsible for their own housing,
parking and meals.
