PCOM is proud to celebrate 125 years of service through a whole-person approach. As we count down our final 125 days of our anniversary year, we're celebrating the momentous achievement with three months of community service.

08/23/2024 Dermatology Club Sticker Sale - Stop by the lobby of the Hassman Academic Center from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, and get some fun stickers to deck out your devices, water bottles or anything else your heart desires! All proceeds will support Philadelphia Miles for Melanoma. Dermatology Club
08/25/2024 Lancaster Community Day - To commemorate our last 125 days of our anniversary year, PCOM is kicking off four months of community events with the first being held at the Lancaster Avenue Healthcare Center (4148 Lancaster Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19104). The event will take place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will include free health screenings, haircuts, food, a lively DJ and a new garden tour. To commemorate the occasion, we'll be giving away 125 backpacks filled with school supplies. CWI
09/04/2024 PCOM SIGN Volunteers w/ the Inglis House - Join PCOM Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN) volunteers as they partner with Inglis House (2600 Belmont Avenue) for the 47th Keen Games (Olympics). The Inglis House is a specialty nursing care facility providing long-term, residential care for 252 adults with physical disabilities, including multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury and stroke, among others. Inglis House is looking for volunteers on each of the days from September 4 through September 7, 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. There are descriptions for each of the events on the sign-up sheet. The residents have spent all summer practicing for the Keen Games, so they would really love your support. 09/11/2024 LMSA Volunteers with MANNA - Join PCOM's Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) at MANNA and volunteer in the kitchen! LMSA will be helping prepare meals for community members living with illness. This includes chopping vegetables, packaging meals, filling meal trays, baking and more. No cooking skills required! Must set up a MANNA account prior to attending the event. The event will take place at MANNA in Philadelphia from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. LMSA
09/14/2024 Havertown SDA Community Health Fair - Beginning at 1 p.m., PCOM students and volunteers will be on-site at the Havertown SDA Church to provide free health screenings and educational resources as well as kid-friendly activities that teach about the body and first-aid.

09/14/2024 GayBINGO with the Philly AIDS Fund - The Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) has partnered with the AIDS Fund Philly to volunteer at monthly sessions of GayBINGO! The group's volunteer efforts include staffing the concessions stand as well as selling 50/50 raffle tickets and special game cards. This event will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 5:15 PM. Sign up on our Google Sheet here. GHHS
09/18/2024 Healthy Aging Community Day at Park Tower - Join us at Park Tower Apartments (4001 Conshohocken Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19131) for a day of community wellness. In addition to free health screenings, delicious food, and a live DJ and line dancing, we'll be giving away 125 fall prevention kits. The event starts at 10 a.m. so be sure to arrive early so you do not miss the giveaways and fun activities. CWI
09/23/2024 SNMA Red Cross Blood Drive - Please register to donate blood during Student National Medical Association's (SNMA) Annual Blood Drive at the PCOM Philadelphia campus in partnership with American Red Cross. You may register for an appointment up until the day of, but the sooner the better! Please bring a government issued ID and donor card (if applicable) on the day of your appointment. The drive will take place in the Activity Center on Monday, September 23, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Register here today. SNMA

09/25/2024 Soul Food Wednesday - Join the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 12 p.m. in Howard A. Hassman, DO '83 Academic Center mezzanine for amazing soul food and fellowship! This event is an SNMA fundraiser and a plate is $12 which includes an entree, two sides, dessert, cornbread or a roll and a drink! Come while supplies last! We can't wait to see you all there. 09/26/2024 AMWA Succulent Sale - PCOM's chapter of the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) will be holding a fundraiser selling succulents, t-shirts and tote bags! All proceeds will go toward Women Against Abuse, Philadelphia's leading domestic violence agency. Come out and get some goodies while supporting a great cause. Succulents will be sold one for $3 or two for $5, t-shirts and tote bags will be sold for $5 each. View more information on our flyer. AMWA
09/27/2024 Primary Care Progress Club Book Swap - The weather is getting cooler, which means it is the perfect time to get yourself a new book. Join the Primary Care Progress Club (PCP) for our book swap event! Bring in your old books until September 26, 2024; drop them in our boxes outside Ginsberg auditorium; and fill out the QR code on the flyer at the drop-off. Then on, September 27, 2024, we will have a book swap event in the lobby of Howard A. Hassman, DO '83 Academic Center. Those that donated can pick out some new reads. Don't have any books to donate? Don't worry, you can buy some books at the swap. All proceeds will go to the Free Library of Philadelphia. New books and supporting a good cause? Can’t get any better than that! 09/28/2024 SAMOPS Dodgeball Tournament- PCOM's Student Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (SAMOPS) is hosting a dodgeball tournament on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 1 p.m. in PCOM's Activities Center. Please consider making or joining a team for just $5 per person. All teams will get multiple opportunities to play in the round-robin style tournament. 09/28/2024 HotBox Yoga Fundraiser - HotBox Yoga in Manayunk, PA will be providing a 60 minute hot yoga class on September 28, 2024, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. This class will be $25 and in the spirit of supporting our local community, the proceeds will go towards the Tyrese Maxey Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening families and communities by providing youth with the skills and support needed to become the next generation of leaders. 09/29/2024 Chosen 300 Volunteer Event - Come volunteer with PCOM's D.O. More chapter at Chosen 300 (a West Philadelphia-based indoor meal distribution service at 3959 Lancaster Avenue) to serve meals to community members on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 9 a.m. Arrival time is 8:30 a.m. This event is a great way to help out the community, bond with classmates, and earn some TOUCH hours! 10/05/2024 IDAAY Health Fair - PCOM is proud to partner with the Institute for the Development of African American Youth (IDAAY) for its 4th Annual Health Fair. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., PCOM volunteers will be on-site for a day of fun and health education which will include free health screenings, educational resources, giveaways and more.  CWI
10/15/2024 Make Your Own Splatter Paint! Fundraising Event - The Psych Council is partnering with the Student Government Association (SGA) Wellness Committee to host a splatter paint fundraiser on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 3 p.m. through 6 p.m. at Monument Field on the Philadelphia campus. All proceeds will benefit the Psych Council's annual Charity Ball. We are asking for a $5 minimum donation, or pay what you want, in order to participate (Venmo or Cash on site). 10/19/2024 Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes - We're excited to invite you to be part of our walking team for the upcoming American Diabetes Association (ADA) Diabetes Walk. PCOM students and faculty will join together to get active and be outdoors while supporting a case affecting many people in our local communities. 10/24/2024 Cambria Community Day - PCOM is continuing its 125th anniversary celebrations with a community day at the Cambria Division Healthcare Center. Beginning at 11 a.m., guests are invited to enjoy free food, music, health screenings and more. With fall well underway, we'll also be giving away 125 winter coats with hats and gloves. CWI
10/29/2024 Dance for a Cure - Join the Peds and Oncology Club in our joint event to Dance for a Cure! On Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, starting at 6:15 p.m., we will begin with Zumba for an hour followed by a talk from Sandy McHugh, the Head of Jake's Dragon Foundation, a foundation supporting children with pediatric cancer and their families. Afterwards, there will be food provided. The event is $12 paid to Oncology club's venmo (@PCOMOncologyClub); proceeds benefit Jake's Dragon Foundation. Please register before the event. 11/02/2024 Community Health Fair at the Lady of Fatima Church: PCOM's Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) will be participating in a Community Health Fair at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be two available shifts to accommodate any quizzes that may be happening that following Monday. The first shift is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the second shift is from 12 to 2 p.m. You do not have to be Spanish-speaking to participate in this event. LMSA
11/09/2024 Walk to End Alzheimer's - PCOM Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN) is excited to volunteer with the Walk to End Alzheimer's at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024. Come join our team to walk for the cause! Additionally, we will be making a sign-up sheet to be sent out closer to the date regarding carpooling to the event. 11/22/2024 PCOM Turkey Bowl Flag Football Tournament/Donate to Philabundance - Join us on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, for the first annual PCOM Turkey Bowl Flag Football Tournament on Monument Field! This event is more than just a game—it's an opportunity for our campus to come together for friendly competition and to give back to the surrounding communitities. We're asking participants and spectators to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to benefit Philabundance, a Philly area non-profit dedicated to fighting hunger across the region. The fun kicks off with a BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) tailgate at 2 p.m., so pack your own snacks and refreshments. Games will run from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. so rally your friends, sign up, and come ready to play or cheer. Let's make a positive impact together while celebrating the season of giving! Register here. 12/05/2024 Health Aid Kit Assembly Day - PCOM invites volunteers to the Philadelphia campus for a day of service. Beginning at 11 a.m., volunteers will meet in the gymnasium in the Activities Center to assemble 500 health aid kits to be distributed to the College's charitable partners throughout the holiday season. The kits will include meditation playlists, wellness resources, and a $125 gift card to a local grocery store. CWI
