Get to Know Dillon Presley PCOM South Georgia Community Outreach Coordinator
December 10, 2024
Dillon Presley joined PCOM South Georgia in March of 2024 as community outreach coordinator for the Office of Diversity and Community Relations. In this role, he actively engages in initiatives that promote diversity, equity
and inclusion within the community.
A first-generation college student and graduate of Colquitt County High School, he
uses his previous experience as a high school educator to reach people in underserved
communities. He recently led PCOM South Georgia’s Rural Health Initiative at the Sunbelt Ag Expo in October to promote the College’s collaborative efforts in making rural health
a priority.
“Feedback from partner organizations was overwhelmingly positive,” Presley said. “They
highlighted the importance of addressing rural health issues and expressed gratitude
for the opportunity to collaborate. This aligns with our values of respect and accountability
as we seek to learn and grow from each partnership. Each partnership is so important
for us because they all present us with opportunities for progress in a multitude
of ways as we strive to enhance health education, equity, and access for all.”
Presley plays a pivotal role in recruiting students to participate in community events
and provides guidance to those who wish to create events of their own. His commitment
to engaging with the student body has increased College participation and continues
to foster a sense of belonging among the students, ultimately strengthening connections
between the student body and the wider community.
“This position has been everything that I was hoping it would be,” Presley said. “The
people, the atmosphere, the culture, the campus, I’m able to give back to where I'm
from. Some of the people who coached me and I grew up with, I go to meetings with
them now. It's come full circle.”
