Join PCOM for its annual Advanced Emergency Medicine continuing medical education (CME) course from February 24 through February 27, 2025, at our Philadelphia campus.

Registration options include in-person, single-day, live online and on-demand online, as well as bonus hands-on training workshops. A couple of these workshops are also being offered at our PCOM Georgia location. The course's full details, class schedule and instructors can be found in the the program brochure (PDF).

  • Promote Inclusivity in the Practice of Emergency Medicine by providing a focus on raising awareness, promoting equitable care, and addressing barriers to inclusivity, all while encouraging practice pattern changes.
  • Examine best practices for addressing the unique needs of a variety of vulnerable patient populations including, but not limited to: women, intoxicated patients, pregnant patients, incarcerated patients, non-English speaking patients, geriatric and pediatric patients.
  • Expand global knowledge in subspecialties of emergency medicine including EMS, pediatrics, toxicology, administration and point of care ultrasound.
  • Discuss and explore strategies for practice for high acuity care in the community environment, including POCUS utilization, stroke care, hemodialysis emergencies, diabetic care and evidence-based examination of care.

AOA Credit

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association of medical education for physicians. Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine designates this program for a maximum of 36 hours of AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.

  • 28 Hours of AOA Category 1A credit (Live In-Person, LiveOnline and/or complete on-demand recordings by March9th, 2025)
  • Additional 4 credit hours per hands-on workshop (Mondayand/or Wednesday)
  • 2 credit hours of Risk Management
  • 3 credit hours of Patient Safety

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Pennsylvania Medical Society through the joint provider-ship of Main Line Health and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Main Line Health is accredited by the Pennsylvania Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Designation Statement: Main Line Health designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 28 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the educational activity.

Optional hands-on workshops

This year's conference has a new optional add-on which includes two half day hands-on workshops on Monday and Wednesday afternoon. The workshops will take place on both the PCOM and PCOM Georgia campuses in the simulation labs. The hands-on portion will be limited to 25 people. This is a first-come, first served registration!
