Stav Gare discovered her path to health care through a profound desire to advocate
for patient health education and shared decision-making. Her passion for Family Medicine stems from a holistic approach that aligns with her values of empowering patients
to make informed choices about their health.
After a residency match at Boston University, Gare feels equipped to pursue her varied
interests, particularly in maternal-child care. She sees Family Medicine as the perfect
avenue to explore her passions in women's health, obstetrics, and pediatrics, all
within one specialty.
Gare’s journey into health care intensified during her service as a fitness instructor
in the Israel Air Force, where she found fulfillment in educating others about healthy
lifestyles.
This passion for education continued through various roles as a tutor, substitute
teacher, and mentor, shaping her commitment to patient education within Family Medicine.
“My commitment to educating people of all ages and backgrounds led me to choose Family
Medicine as my specialty,” Gare said. “This is where I believe I can make the greatest
impact on my patients' well-being.”
Reflecting on her experiences, Gare offers words of encouragement to incoming students,
“What is meant to happen, will happen!” She emphasized the importance of prioritizing
self-care amid the challenges of the first year of medical school.
“Your worth isn't defined by grades or scores,” added Gare. “You've put in the hard
work, earned your place at PCOM, and you're on the path to becoming a doctor.”
