PCOM Transforms Its Cambria and Lancaster Ave Healthcare Centers With $1M Renovations
December 6, 2024
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) recently unveiled its newly renovated Cambria and Lancaster Avenue Healthcare Centers. The recent transformation, totaling $1 million per center, ushers
in a new age of modern, easily accessible healthcare to the communities of North and
West Philadelphia.
Both centers underwent extensive upgrades, including new flooring, wall coverings,
millwork/cabinetry and countertops, updated lighting fixtures, and all-new modern
furniture for exam rooms, conference areas, waiting rooms, workstations, offices and
staff lounges. Enhancements also included updated bathrooms—complete with gender-neutral
facilities—and redesigned check-in and check-out areas. Additionally, both centers
received new lab and immunization rooms, advanced refrigeration systems for medical
storage, and optimized cabinetry and storage solutions throughout the centers.
Both the Cambria and Lancaster Avenue facilities now feature a quiet room, providing
staff with a tranquil space for mindfulness breaks during their workday. The Lancaster
Avenue facility also received an exterior refresh. Patients and staff alike have been
enthusiastic about the upgrades.
“Patients have been so complimentary. There's a gleam in their eyes when they walk
in—they truly feel more cared for in this new space,” shared Kristen Berry DO '00, medical director of the Lancaster Avenue Division.
Barbara Williams-Page DO '92, medical director of the Cambria Division, echoed this sentiment. “The community
has been so patient and appreciative throughout the renovation process,” she said.
“They are thrilled to receive care in such a modern facility and to have access to
this level of healthcare right here in their neighborhood.”
PCOM Healthcare Centers continue to serve as vital resources, offering comprehensive healthcare services
from family medicine to gynecology and psychology.
