Dear Members of the College Community:
Our nation is in the midst of one of the most consequential times in its history. This week we witnessed unprecedented violence and disruption at our Capitol as our nation continues to struggle with the peaceful transfer of power within our democracy.
As a College whose core values perpetuate excellence and integrity, health and wellness, and diversity and inclusion, we join with those who condemn threats upon our democratic process and the political freedoms of our fellow Americans.
I urge each of us—regardless of political belief—to reach out to one another, to engage in respectful dialogue and discourse, to advocate for justice and the common good, to build bridges that will move us forward and, above all, to recognize the humanity inherent in each of us.
