Danielle McNichol Appointed Chief Legal Affairs and Compliance Officer at PCOM
January 6, 2025
Danielle McNichol, JD, a legal executive and entrepreneur who has operated her own
law offices for more than 25 years, is joining Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) as Chief Legal Affairs and Compliance Officer, effective Jan. 6.
The Cabinet position, reporting to President and CEO Jay S. Feldstein, DO '81, oversees all legal and compliance activities, including supervising PCOM's internal
audit function under the auspices of the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees; ensuring compliance with Title IX; and overseeing all contracts and agreements. McNichol has served as external counsel
for PCOM since 2019 and took on additional responsibility—including the role of interim
chief compliance officer—in 2024.
“Dani's firsthand knowledge of PCOM, combined with her deep experience in higher education
and healthcare, will allow her to quickly onboard into this critical leadership position,”
Feldstein said. “She is thoughtful, strategic, and collaborative, and she will provide
expert guidance on a wide range of legal matters impacting our institution.”
McNichol has operated McNichol Law Offices since 1997, serving as legal counsel to
multiple organizations. A subsidiary of her office focuses on Title IX matters. From
2016 to 2020, she served as general counsel and executive director of the Center for
Leadership at Neumann University, where she established the Wardrobes for Work program
that repurposed over 250,000 items of clothing to help outfit students and community
members for interviews, internships, or jobs. Before that, she was general counsel
and director of human resources for the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.
This nonprofit organization was responsible for the World Meeting of Families Congress
and papal visit in 2015.
“I’ve learned so many lessons throughout my career, and I'm excited to fully apply
my experience to PCOM,” McNichol said. “I’ll continue bringing a collaborative, inclusive,
and solutions-oriented approach to my work with colleagues here in Pennsylvania and
in Georgia.”
McNichol has held a variety of legal and management positions with the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, served as an associate vice president at Temple University Health
System, and as general counsel, corporate secretary, and right-to-know officer for
the Delaware River Port Authority. She served as general counsel for Philadelphia
Soccer 2026—the host organization bringing FIFA World Cup soccer to the Philadelphia
region—and is involved with multiple community and not-for-profit boards.
McNichol earned her JD from Dickinson Law and her bachelor's degree from Susquehanna
University. Her husband, John, is president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Convention
Center. McNichol has a daughter, Samantha, and two stepsons, John and Matt, as well
as two young grandchildren, Gabriella and Johnny.
