PCOM Chief Admissions Officer Adrianne Jones Named 2025 Black Trailblazer
February 24, 2025
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) Chief Admissions Officer Adrianne Jones, MLS, has been honored as a 2025 Black Trailblazer by City & State Pennsylvania for her leadership in advancing inclusive admissions strategies, her dedication to
expanding access to medical and health sciences education, and her commitment to fostering
a diverse and resilient future healthcare workforce.
Jones has served as chief admissions officer at PCOM since April 2020, overseeing
admissions and enrollment across all programs at PCOM, PCOM Georgia, and PCOM South Georgia.
Her recent accomplishments include presenting at the Society of Acquired Resilience research conference in 2024, exploring how COVID-19 shaped resilience in graduate
medical and health sciences. Her findings underscored lasting changes in PCOM's admissions
processes and emphasized the ongoing need for flexibility and innovation in medical
education.
“The resilience demonstrated by both applicants and the institution underscored the
strength and adaptability necessary for the future healthcare workforce,” Jones said.
“The innovation continues by leveraging advanced data-driven strategies and proprietary
technology, and we aim to expand outreach, refine, communicate and build a more inclusive
student body—strengthening connections with prospective students, ensuring a more
effective and personalized enrollment experience.”
Jones credits her liberal arts background for equipping her with the skills to innovate
and integrate technology into her position in PCOM's Office of Admissions. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Southwestern University, a master's
degree in liberal studies from Southern Methodist University, and is completing a
doctoral degree in higher education at Walden University.
Jones is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions
Officers (AACRAO), Council of Osteopathic Medical Admissions Officers (CAMAO), LGBTQ
Leaders in Higher Education, National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions
(NAAHP), and Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority (AKA).
