Helping professionals include occupations that provide health and education services to individuals and groups, such as in the fields of psychology, psychiatry, counseling, medicine, nursing, social work, physical and occupational therapy, teaching, education and more. Because of the care put forth in counseling others, helping professionals are highly susceptible to stress, burnout and vicarious trauma. Many professionals identify the need to create ways to destress and incorporate stress management skills into their daily life.
