ROBERT J. LLOYD, DO, FACOS
Assistant Dean of Clinical Education
Associate Professor of Surgery

Following medical school and residency, Dr. Lloyd relocated to rural East Tennessee. He practiced in general surgery for more than 24 years. His practice interests include gastrointestinal surgery, laparoscopic surgery and GI endoscopy, as well as a broad spectrum of general surgical care.

Education

Dr. Lloyd holds undergraduate degrees in business administration and biology. He is a 1991 graduate of PCOM and also completed his general surgery residency with PCOM in 1996. Dr. Lloyd also holds a Master of Science in Medical Education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is board certified in general surgery and is a Fellow of American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.

Research

Dr. Lloyd's research interests include medical education, general surgical training and rural medicine. In addition, he serves as a faculty mentor fostering collaboration between medical students, residents and clinicians in clinical research activities.
