DANIEL W. MACKIE, PT, DPT, OCS
Adjunct Professor
Dr. Daniel Mackie joined the PCOM Georgia Doctor of Physical Therapy program as a
Clinical Adjunct Faculty member in Spring 2025. He brings more than 15 years of diverse
clinical experience across inpatient rehabilitation, private practice, and corporate
outpatient settings. Currently, he serves as the Regional Clinical Excellence Coordinator
for a large network of 44 outpatient clinics, where he leads clinician education and
development, including new hire training, orthopedic mentoring, and clinical improvement
initiatives.
A board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and graduate of Mercer University’s
inaugural Orthopedic Residency Program, Dr. Mackie earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy
degree from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Education, magna
cum laude, from the University of Georgia. His certifications also include Dry Needling
and LSVT BIG.
Dr. Mackie has held clinical adjunct and consulting roles in multiple DPT and PTA
programs throughout Georgia, and he has long been engaged with the American Physical
Therapy Association (APTA) and the APTA - Georgia. He has contributed to APTA Georgia
through committee work, conference presentations, and currently serves on the Nominating
Committee. His research includes a recent poster presentation and pending publication
on shared decision-making in physical therapy.
Dr. Mackie’s teaching interests center on musculoskeletal management, manual therapy,
mentorship, and bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world clinical
practice. His commitment to education reflects his deep gratitude to the profession
and a desire to give back to the physical therapy community that has shaped his career.
