Brian Mann, EdD, MS, PA-C, was named interim dean of the School of Health Professions and Sciences at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), effective January 27, 2025.
He has been with PCOM since 2021 and also serves as Chief of Simulation Operations,
where he has played a pivotal role in enhancing the institution’s simulation and standardized
patient programs.
Based at PCOM Georgia, Dr. Mann brings extensive expertise in higher education leadership
and clinical practice. Prior to joining PCOM, he was the Director of Simulation Education
at Campbell University’s Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine. There, he
oversaw daily operations of the simulation center and developed integrated curricula
for undergraduate and graduate medical education.
Dr. Mann’s clinical background includes experience as a physician assistant at FirstHealth
of the Carolinas Convenient Care, the Cleveland Clinic, and several other prominent
hospitals in Northeast Ohio. He has been a key advocate for advancing the role of
physician assistants (PAs) in healthcare, demonstrating a commitment to creating new
opportunities for PAs in diverse clinical settings.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Mann worked as a firefighter/paramedic and emergency department
paramedic in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) and a Master of
Science (MS) degree, along with certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C).
As interim dean, Dr. Mann oversees the academic and administrative functions of the
School of Health Professions and Sciences, which offers challenging, rewarding and
innovative programs for aspiring health professionals.
