Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
PCOM Georgia

Our department trains medical students in osteopathic principles, philosophy and practice including the use of osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), an approach in which osteopathic physicians use their hands to diagnose, treat and prevent illness.

At its heart, osteopathic manipulative medicine is the knowledge base that allows an osteopathic physician to determine which patients will derive the greatest benefit from OMT and which specific techniques should be applied.

Our faculty are committed to carrying on the long-standing tradition of helping people improve their health and overcome problems through a “whole person” approach which treats the entire person rather than just the symptoms.

OMM is focused on treating illness within the context of the whole body.
