Lauren Smith (DO ’16) and Murray R. Berkowitz, D.O., M.A., M.S., M.P.H. recently co-authored
a paper accepted by the International Journal of Osteopathic Medicine.
The paper examines the use of osteopathic manipulative treatment in improving bowel function in a patient with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
Smith is an osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) teaching fellow and a 2015 recipient of the Mason W. Pressly Memorial Medal. Dr. Berkowitz is an associate professor at Georgia Campus - Philadelphia College
of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) and an attending physician at the Georgia Osteopathic Care Center.
