Are there Orientation activities at PCOM for new students?
Yes.  The PCOM Orientation events are designed to acclimate you to the PCOM community.  Orientation programs are specific for each academic program.  Your attendance is required.

What are the dates for the Orientation programs?
The Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Orientation is from Sunday, August 6th through Sunday, August 13th. The various Graduate Programs Orientation dates will be sent to you in the mail. Orientation Questions?  Email studentaffairs@pcom.edu

Are there events for family members?
You will receive information about orientation events later in the spring.

When do I register for classes?
D.O. Students: At the beginning of each academic year.
Graduate Programs:  Registration begins 8 weeks prior to the start of each term and lasts for 4 weeks. Information on registration will be mailed to you in a separate packet.  For additional information, visit the

    Tuition and fees are due 10 business days prior to the start of each term for first year students.

    About Health Insurance:

    Does PCOM require me to have health insurance?
    Yes.  All students enrolled at PCOM must be covered by a health insurance plan.

     

    Does PCOM offer Health Insurance?

    • GA-PCOM: This information is being developed, so please check back soon. Thank you for your patience.
    • PCOM: Yes. You are eligible to enroll in the PCOM Independence Blue Cross program during the open enrollment period.  The open enrollment period is from July 1, 2006 to July 29, 2006.You will receive a mailing that describes the PCOM insurance options.

    About Technology:

    What kind of technology services does PCOM provide?
    All PCOM students receive an email account and access to the PCOM Network and Banner Information System*. You will receive your PCOM email account access information in a separate mailing.

    *In order to connect to the PCOM network when you are off campus you will need to have your own Internet access.

    For further information, please visit the MIS/Telecommunications section of the PCOM website.

     

    Do I need a computer?
    PCOM does not require students to purchase computers. Should you decide to purchase a computer, it must meet the following criteria to be compatible with PCOM’s network: Anti-virus software with latest definition updates and network enabled(wireless or standard)
