About the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at PCOM Georgia

The physical therapy program at PCOM Georgia is housed in a 12,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility on our Suwanee, Georgia campus.Our program is designed to be completed in three years. Our students complete classroom and clinical experiences. Visit our course sequence and curriculum page for additional details.

As a student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, you will train at our Suwanee, Georgia location in our modern, 12,000-square-foot Physical Therapy Education Center. The Center features state-of-the-art equipment as well as laboratories, classrooms, study spaces and more.

The graduates of the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at PCOM Georgia will:

  • Provide optimal patient/client-focused care in a variety of settings across the continuum of care and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals for individuals with movement disorders.
  • Incorporate research, clinical expertise and patient/client values while addressing the needs of the "whole person" (physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual and socio-economic).
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards as described by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in its core documents, as well as laws and regulations of the jurisdiction in which practice is located.
  • Advocate for the health care rights and needs of individuals and society while promoting the profession of physical therapy.

Physical therapy is one of the fastest growing professions with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting a national growth rate of 14 percent between 2023 and 2033.

Growth in Georgia (2022-2032) is predicted to be 19 percent according to labor market projections. Approximately 370 positions for qualified physical therapists will be open annually in Georgia during this period.
