Below are some of the most common questions regarding the counseling services provided
by the Office of Student Affairs.
Do I need an appointment to meet with a counselor?
We prefer that students make an appointment for counseling services. However, students
without an appointment will be seen within 24-72 hours of initial contact unless it
is deemed an emergency situation.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You may email or call a counselor from your campus directly to schedule an appointment.
Visit our Student Counseling page to view contact information for our counselors at PCOM, PCOM Georgia and PCOM South
Georgia.
What does the intake process look like?
After scheduling an intake appointment with a counselor, fill out the consent paperwork
48 hours prior to your initial meeting. Your counselor will email you a link to the
paperwork which can be completed, signed and submitted to them online.
Are the sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is maintained in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Faculty, staff or administration will not have any access to student counseling records
without written permission from the student.
How much do the services cost?
All counseling services (individual therapy, group therapy, consultations and walk-in
appointments) are free to currently enrolled students.
How many sessions do I need to attend?
The number of sessions will be based on the individual needs of the student. The counseling
approach is generally short-term and problem-focused. This will be discussed and set
during the intake evaluation session.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes long.
